Dedicated to the memory of our founder, Leo Cohen…

Our founder Leo Cohen owned and operated Mercury Refining for over 50 years before his passing in 2015, and his approach to business was very personal, friendly, and service-oriented. Leo will always be remembered as caring, genuine, honest, fair, and dedicated.

In the years prior to founding Mercury Refining, Leo graduated from Tufts University with a Masters in chemistry before going on to serve his country as a medical technician in the U.S. Army during World War II. Leo also taught chemistry at the junior-high school level for almost 20 years. Anyone who met Leo throughout all of those years remembers that he genuinely cared for those he met, making sure to give his best efforts while getting yours in return, and most importantly that you felt you were treated fairly. Leo made sure to always give the best to you, because he wanted to get the best out of you, for you.

We at Mercury Refining want to honor Leo’s memory by continuing to provide the top-quality customer service that he established decades ago. For those of you that have worked with Leo and Mercury Refining in the past, please know we appreciate your business greatly, and that Mercury Refining will continue to provide the dedicated, expert service that Leo was known for. By maintaining the same practices and level of customer service, we hope to preserve Leo’s legacy and continue to serve you as America’s #1 Recycler of Silver Oxide Batteries.
